The keynote speaker stood before numerous guests, politicians, the German Army, Federal Administration and project participants, and emphasised the significance of the Karlsruhe site as a training centre for the Armed Forces. KREBS+KIEFER is entrusted with the structural physics’ planning services of the construction project.

Implemented in the modern Kirchfeld barracks, and estimated at nearly 15 Million Euros, the new building, with its sophisticated, yet economical architecture from the V-Architects Office in Cologne, ensures the future of the educational basic- and further training of the Armed Forces. The services of the thermal and acoustic structural physics, under the responsibility of the experts KREBS+KIEFER, is not a trivial task, given the energy balance regulations in accordance with the EnEV 2016 and the room acoustic requirements for uninterrupted school operations. For the transparent architectural design, which is incorporated into the forest surroundings, a three-dimensional thermal building simulation is additionally being carried out for summer thermal insulation.
