For the third time, the city of Mainz's Economic Affairs department, in cooperation with Mainz High School and the Johannes Gutenberg University, was invited to the series of events "Careers in the region – students meet employers" at the lecture hall at Mainz Technical College.

The series of events offers companies the chance to meet students of Mainz High School in a relaxed environment. This time, the focus of the meeting, which took place on 12 November 2014 on Mainz High School's campus, was the environment and nature.

In total, seven companies from Mainz had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the next generation at Mainz High School and inform them about internships, entry and career opportunities. This year KREBS+KIEFER was included in this group. Representing the company were CEO Heike Kiefer-Eisenträger and Susan Herrmann.

The company presentation was moderated by Prof Andrea Beyer, Vice-president of Mainz High School, who also opened the event. She started by saying that small and medium sized companies are important to the economy. Students should get to know companies within the region and make personal contact with them for the future.

Economic Affairs Office Christopher Sitte explained, "Mainz, the city of science, has over 40,000 students and is an excellent place to do business. The sheer number of students will be an advantage to the area in the future, when there is a lack of skills in various industries. For this reason we are now bringing together students and medium sized companies."

At the end of the event there was the opportunity for students and companies to interact directly at the allocated stands, which went very well.
