On 6 December 2016, B.Eng. Tarik Tiyma was honoured with the 2016 'award for studies' from the 'Friends of FH Erfurt e. V.'. Mr. Tiyma has supported our Erfurt office since 2014 and has been a permanent member of staff since 1 November 2016.
The topic of the master's thesis that the prize was awarded for was the comparative study of various variants of the Weser bridge in Hannoversch Münden.
The variants included a pre-stressed concrete bridge, using both a semi-integral construction technique as well as a conventional (mounted) construction technique. A double-webbed t-beam was examined
as a superstructure cross-section. On the one hand, the jury honoured the work of Mr. Tiyma because of the complexity of the technical solutions he found and on the other hand, because of their practicality.
It has even been possible to directly realise some of the results from Mr. Tiyma's master thesis in the design of the bridge which KREBS+KIEFER has been commissioned for by the road con-struction office of the state of Lower Saxony.
KREBS+KIEFER congratulates Mr. Tiyma on his outstanding master thesis and wishes him eve-ry success in the K+K Team.
