With the topping out ceremony for Quarter G on 6 December 2017 in the Weidenborn district of Wiesbaden, a 10-year construction phase came to an end. The project, which cost an estimated 14.5 million euros, is expected to be completed in 2018.

The topping out ceremony commenced with speeches by the Managing Director of Wiesbadener Wohnungsbaugesellschaft GWW, Mr Stefan Storz, and the Chairman of its Supervisory Board, Mr Christoph Manjura, and was then officially opened in traditional fashion with a ceremonial address by the foreman.
The new residential area will accommodate approximately 775 flats for 1,500 people. Quarter G alone will contain approximately 80 rented flats in seven buildings.

For this project, KREBS+KIEFER was responsible for the structural engineering, the building acoustics and the thermal insulation. All the houses are being built in accordance with the KfW-55 “efficient house” standard and thus more than comply with the energy standards required today. In addition, the method of construction selected will achieve increased sound insulation.

The attractively designed outdoor area with a multitude of connecting paths will enable a heightened feeling of interconnectedness. All the flats will be accessible with no barriers and elevator facilities and underground garages will ensure each flat has its own parking space. 35 flats are planned that fulfil the requirements of those with physical impairments and 15 further flats will be available to those who receive social security benefits.
