KREBS+KIEFER is providing the structural design for the building and also the planning services for the construction pit.

In the structural design, one must implement the requirements of a modern administration building with parliamentary library and an open visitors' center in a sustainable manner working together with Max Dudler Architects.

The first structural challenge is the excavation pit. The inner-city location with the existing neighboring buildings of the listed Bundesrat building, the new buildings on Leipziger Platz and the high groundwater level in Berlin, which is typical of the location, require a tight trough excavation pit.

The start of the excavation pit is planned from 2020 on. The use of the building is planned for 2025.
