KREBS+KIEFER called upon as fire safety experts for the “Spandauer Ufer” workshop procedure

Dr Huismann was appointed by the project developers of the “Spandauer Ufer” project as an expert in preventive fire safety as part of the urban development workshop procedure.

The project developers, merz objektbau from Aalen and FAY Projects GmbH from Mannheim, acquired the former post office building in Klosterstraße between the Spandau Arcaden and Havel river in April of this year.

An urban planning workshop procedure was commenced in August aimed at reinvigorating this neglected district with an interesting mix of retail, offices, medical facilities, apartments and restaurants.

A total of six renowned architects’ offices were asked to take part in this new urban project. After more than two months of preparation, 1st place was awarded to ASTOC Architects and Planners GmbH & Co. KG of Cologne. KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten GmbH achieved second place.
