High-ranking visitors from China in Niederfinow

On 30 May 2017, KREBS+KIEFER had the pleasure of welcoming a high-ranking company delegation from China to the construction site of the new Niederfinow boat lift. Headed by Mr. Lu Chun, Chairman of the Three Gorges Corporation, the group of experts consulted head project manager of the Office for new construction of waterways (WNA) Berlin, Mr. Peter Huth, about the experiences gained during construction.

The public China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) as one of the largest power supply companies worldwide, is builder and operator of the Three Gorges Dam By the Yangtze River. KREBS+KIEFER on behalf of CTG in cooperation with Lahmeyer International had produced the draft tender for the largest boat lift worldwide.

On 30 May 2017, KREBS+KIEFER had the pleasure of welcoming a high-ranking company delegation from China to the construction site of the new Niederfinow boat lift. For the new construction to replace the Niederfinow boat lift, KREBS+KIEFER was initially involved in preliminary planning. Mister Dr.-Ing. Hans-Gerd Lindlar, Managing Director of KREBS+KIEFER, is currently the consortium testing engineer in charge of the construction project .

As part of the competent construction site management by Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Peter Huth from the WNA Berlin, the nine-member Chinese delegation together with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan Akkermann and Dipl.-Ing Eric Fischer (both managing directors of KREBS+KIEFER), Dr.-Ing. Matthias Schäfers (Chairman of IRS Stahlwasserbau Consulting AG which is part of KREBS+KIEFER) as well as the management and experts from Lahmeyer International were able to gain an excellent impression of the new construction and its already advanced progress. In the process, matters of detail regarding the design and construction of boat lifts were also discussed among the experts in attendance.
