With "The Fontenay", new standards will be set in the hotel industry.

In addition to the hotel rooms, of which more than 120 are planned, and 20 luxurious rental apartments, a gourmet restaurant is also planned. The planned opening date for the hotel is the 1st of July, 2016.

On the 14th of August, 2014, the foundation laying ceremony for this exceptional project, for which KREBS+KIEFER was responsible for all the planning and consultation services, with regard to the construction physics (thermal construction physics, construction and room acoustics), took place. Also attending the ceremony were the investor and building owner, Klaus-Michael Kühne, Hamburg's First Mayor, Olaf Scholz, the District Officer of Eimsbüttel, Dr. Torsten Sevecke and the Senior Pastor of St. Katharinen, Mrs Dr. Ulrike Murmann.

Outstanding characteristics of the concept developed by KREBS+KIEFER are the energetic features and the very high comfort level. Extensive, thermotechnically optimised glazings provide transparency and lightness with high insulation values. At the request of the building owner, the engineers at KREBS+KIEFER have designed the room acoustics ratios of the large hall in such a way as to achieve first-class speech intelligibility. Due to its sound-absorbing properties, it is ideally suited for conferences, presentations and conventions but can also be used for classical concert events.
