A 7 HAS THE FIRST COVER ON IT

The widening of the A 7 between the motorway entrance (AS) HH-Schnelsen-Nord and the junction (AD) HH-Nordwest is only a few weeks away from its completion. Prior to this, two 55-hour (partial) closures of the A 7 will be necessary.

The tunnel in numbers:

Tunnel length: 560 meters
Tunnel width: 34 meters on average
Clear construction height: 4.90 metres
Cross section: six roadways
Construction material: 33,000 m3 of concrete and 5,000 tons of steel

The massive part of the structure is adjoined by portal structures at the tunnel entrances and exits, which also form the transition to the adjoining noise protection walls.

The services provided by KREBS+KIEFER Erfurt were

- Stage 1: Consulting services in the tendering phase
(elaboration of special proposals and optimization of tunnel, shoring and noise protection constructions)

- Stage 2: Object and structural design for the revision of the main design and the preparation of the realization documents for tunnel, demolition and all provisional constructions

As a special service, the tunnel safety department of KREBS+KIEFER Berlin has prepared the safety report for the Schnelsen tunnel.

In the smoke tests at the end of August, the tunnel equipment, in particular the fire detection via temperature measurement cables and the video detection, was successfully tested.
