On 18 November 2015, the Chamber of Engineers in Baden-Württemberg celebrated its 25th anniversary at festivities attended by a number of prominent officials. Under the motto “Export Baden-Württemberg Engineering Services”, the second engineers’ day in Baden-Württemberg took place alongside it with the participation of KREBS+KIEFER.

Mr Eric Fischer, Managing Director of our global company KREBS+KIEFER International, talked in his presentation about the requirements facing small and medium-sized engineering companies in an international context, and used the experiences of KREBS+KIEFER with major projects outside Germany to illustrate these. Interest was focused on the two unique projects for which KREBS+KIEFER was responsible: “Ship Lift at the Three Gorges Dam” and the “Great Mosque of Algiers”.

In the subsequent podium discussion, Mr Fischer joined with experts to talk about the risks and opportunities involved in international projects for engineering companies. Overall, it was noted that there is global recognition of the label “Designed in Baden-Württemberg”, a situation in which KREBS+KIEFER plays a decisive role with its offices in Karlsruhe, Freiburg and Stuttgart.

It goes without saying that KREBS+KIEFER was also involved in the subsequent celebration, represented by Mr Eric Fischer and Prof Jan Akkermann, both consultant engineers in the Chamber of Engineers in Baden-Württemberg. In the presence of Dr Nils Schmid, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Financial and Economic Affairs, the invited guests, of which there were approximately 450, listened to the witticisms of the speaker, Dr.-Ing E.h. Martin Herrenknecht.
