BASF Visitor Centre Ludwigshafen
A reason to celebrate
For the 150-year anniversary of the company, the visitor centre on the BASF factory site in Ludwigshafen was to be converted and extended. This included gutting the shower and changing areas and converting them into a gallery; a new steel staircase from the first to the second floor as well as dismantling and re-installing electrical and building cables. A corridor with a three-sided glassed steel framework was placed in front of the facade at first floor height. It enters the visitor centre on one side and on the other opens up to a view of the factory premises.
It was business as usual while the work continued for nearly two years. KREBS+KIEFER collaborated as project manager in the planning phase, during execution as well as the conclusion of the project and during this period monitored, supported and documented the project.
By supporting the entire project management, constantly enforcing the overall schedule as well as continuous cost forecasts and tracking, the visitor centre has been handed over for use on time and on budget.
