Krebs und Kiefer is currently involved in several construction supervision projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Macedonia. The contractual basis for these projects, mainly road construction projects, is mostly the FIDIC Conditions of Contract which are prescribed by the banks (including EBRD, EIB, WB, KfW) for internationally financed projects. |

With the ground-breaking ceremony on 8th May 2013 performed by Federal Minister of Transport Peter Ramsauer (CSU) and Berlin’s senator for transport Michael Müller (SPD), work has officially begun at Grenzallee junction on the extension of the Berlin city motorway. |

This air traffic control tower was built in 1951 on the NATO Air Base at Hahn which was formerly operated by the US Air Force. Over time, the steel supporting structure and the foundations of the tower were damaged by penetrating moisture and the results of poor workmanship during an alteration in the 1980s. The damage was so serious that the structural safety of the building was no longer ensured. |

The official opening ceremony for the campus of Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe took place on 25th April 2013. The facilities of the university were previously located in different places around the town and have now been brought together at CampusOne near Gottesaue castle. Among the new buildings, the multimedia complex is conspicuous due to its design and size. |

In January 2013, the academic senate of Beuth Hochschule für Technik Berlin (BHT) decided to recognize the long-term university work done by our Managing Partner Mr. Peter Stöwhaas by appointing him honorary professor. As part of a ceremony on 15th April 2013 in Beuth-Halle, the president of BHT, Prof. Gross, presented the certificate to Mr. Stöwhaas. The laudatory speech was given by Dr. Karstedt, president of the chamber of construction of Berlin. |

The „Bautechnik-Tag 2013, a biennial conference organized by the German concrete and construction technology association Deutscher Beton- und Bautechnik-Verein e.V. (DBV) took place in Hamburg from 11th to 12th April 2013 under the motto „Infrastruktur stärken - Zukunft sichern“ (Stronger infrastructure for a more secure future). |

A new district, Frankfurt-Riedberg, is currently being built in the north of Frankfurt. In the long term, it will offer residential accommodation and amenities for around 15.000 inhabitants. After almost a year of construction, the topping-out ceremony for the second primary school in the district was held on 4th February 2013 in the presence of the head of the education department, Sarah Sorge, and the Managing Director of Hessen Agentur Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, Friedhelm Flug. |

Since 1st July 2012, the Eurocodes on steel construction and composite steel construction have been mandatory in most German states, together with the German National Annex. While familiarizing themselves with this comprehensive set of norms, many engineers found that they had questions not only on its correct implementation but also on the interpretation of the rules. |
